10 years ago, we were looking to purchase a home in Ocean City, NJ so my wife Catherine and I stopped by the office of Fox & Roach on 55th St. There we met Joe Sheppard who assisted us to search for that dream shore home.
What made Joe different was that he seemed to be more concern for our interest and happiness instead of what he was to make from our sale. He was always there for us whether phone calls with questions or driving us around when we came down. Though purchasing a home takes time, Joe was very patient and there was no pressure from him to choose any of the locations he may of brought us to.
We finally settled on a home on West Ave. and have been there ever since. Though we have purchased the home as a rental property investment, Joe and his assistant Amy have always provided us the opportunity of bringing families in to view our home which has allowed us full 10 years of summer rentals.

We are writing this letter to express our most sincere Thank You for all you did in helping us find and ultimately purchase the home we now occupy on 49th St.
When we decided to move from suburban Bucks County PA, to the shore as permanent residents we knew Ocean City was where we wanted to live. Although we had vacationed here many times, we knew very little about the various parts of the city and the types and styles of real estate available and the pros and cons we needed to consider in moving here as permanent residents.
In other word we knew that we needed the help of an Expert, and after checking with some people we were led to you.
Over a three month period from our first inquiry, right up to having to a signed agreement, you spent all the time with us that we asked of you and more. You listened carefully to our explanation about the type of home we would consider, the view we wanted, and the size and price range we were interested in. You e-mailed information about properties we should consider, and did not waste our time showing us properties that did not meet our criteria. You took time and explained the tax situation and the differences between new construction and existing homes. You explained the zoning and tax changes that have occurred over the years and you not only explained but spent hours in the car showing us all the Ocean City neighborhoods and describing their characteristics. You explained the difference between homes built as year around residences and houses built as rental properties.
You took the time to show us several houses, but you understood our wants and desires so well, that the first house you showed us, was the one we finally purchased.
It has been 1 year since we made our purchase, and 7 month since we actually moved in. Everyday, we comment to one another about how pleased we are with our purchase and with our decision to live here in Ocean City as year round residents.
